Antique Week -Texas

Ella and I just came back from Antique Week in the Round Top/Warrenton area of Texas. The weather was so hot we thought we would melt or pass out at times.
We saw letters everywhere and Ella bought a few.
It was inspiring to see some of the awesome displays.
We bought these folding metal shelves.
My very favorite purchases were the architectural pieces that I found. Architectural elements are becoming a rare find these days, so it was a good find.

Dallas Home Market

I want to share with you a few displays that caught my eye at the most recent Dallas Home & Gift Market. Every showroom doesn't knock your socks off, but there are some that get your attention.

In a good way.

Neutrals and naturals were a theme I noticed in the best displays.

Birds are still everywhere. This made Ella happy...

Shiny and new looking was not what I was seeing, but old and textures of all kinds.

And of course it is never to early to think about Christmas!!

If you are not familiar with Jeanne d' Arc Living Magazine you should be. They are published about six times per year and they are full of design ideas that have been a big inspiration to me. It is published in Denmark and the earlier editions were only available in Danish. Now they are available in English and I have a few copies left in my space at the Antique Company Mall; 213 East Virginia Ave, McKinney, Texas. The cost is $25 (my cost), which may seem high, but the latest addition has over 160 pages with almost no advertising. If you cannot make it to McKinney there are a few websites that offer the publication for sale on their website www.jeannedarcliving.dk. The pictures above are from their latest release.

First Post

Welcome to my first post! I am still trying to find my way through the landmine of selling vintage items in an antique mall. I am fortunate to have one of the best teachers "Ella" which happens to be my dear wife. These pictures are a sampling of some of the great things I have for sale. You need to come by and see (and purchase) them in McKinney, Texas at the Antique Company Mall.

Everyone says I have a "look" but I am just buying things that are appealing to my eye and I hope others will like also. One of the primary reasons that I opened my own space is that as I traveled with Ella on buying trips I would gravitate towards old radios, whites and silver. Ella would be pulled towards anything rusty or cream. This has worked out well for me since I don't have to compete with Ella (She has a sharp eye and is quick to spot the good finds).
We are having fun out on adventures and I will share those with you when I can.
Blogland is a good place to be!
